This week's study lead us from James 1:13-18. I apologize for writing the blog so late, its been a busy week. We had a little bit of breaking of myths in our lives, or sometimes lies we believe; God tempts us. This of course is not true. We as Christians must be careful of how we view God's character which is clearly revealed in Scripture. Our potluck went very well with 12 hungry mouths. We will need to plan one of these again soon. - Lewis Meyer

This week's study lead us from James 1:9-12. A challenging scripture that truly leads us in a different direction than our consumer culture leads us to believe: "Less is more." Personally, this seems to go against the way I feel and sometimes function. I am thankful for God's Word that helps us to understand from God's perspective. We had several visitors from out of town, and enjoyed our fellowship into the afternoon. Next week we are planning a Potluck, and we're excited to gather in fellowship and encouraging one another with God's Word. - Lewis Meyer

During this study we continued In the book of James 1:5-8. Another good time of study and fellowship. Without any appointments we had fellowship until 5pm! Please pray as our fellowship grows, that God will provide workers. We have one girl age 9, who needs some one on one interaction with her for study time. Be sure to join with us on July 27 as we have potluck lunch starting at 12 Noon. James 1:5 says we can pray for wisdom, when we do in Faith/Belief, God will give it abundantly. Pray for me as I ask and seek that wisdom. - Lewis Meyer

We had our first Bible Study at our house. We studied James 1:1-4. It was very good to see everyone and to study God's Word together. We had 11 in attendance, and we had a good time in prayer and sharing. I hope to make some improvements with paper handouts so we can have more involvement. The study was in ASL, and with the help of using our television for visuals, we had God's word where we all could read along. We also used the ASL New Testament from Deaf missions to make the scriptures clear. Me and my good friend are praying daily for this ministry. Please pray for the Holy Spirit's guidance in this ministry. - Lewis Meyer
